Two officers responded to a 911 call about a possible assault in the alley off of West 51st Street between Washburn and Xerxes avenues around 11.30pm, according to a statement released Sunday by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
A 40-year-old Australian woman who was set to get married next month was shot and killed Saturday by a Minneapolis police officer after authorities responded to her report of a possible assault behind her home, according to multiple reports. The two officers in the incident have been placed on paid administrative leave, while Minneapolis police are pledging a speedy investigation into the incident. The BCA did confirm that an officer did fire his weapon, which was what killed Damond.
