Eagles Solve Two Looming Issues with Jordan Matthews Trade

Philadelphia Eagles trade WR Jordan Matthews and draft pick for Bills cornerback

Former Vanderbilt star Jordan Matthews traded to the Buffalo Bills

The Bills sent former second-round pick Ronald Darby to Philadelphia in the deal, which also saw the Bills get a 2018 third-round pick.

The Buffalo Bills have shaken up their roster with two separate trades, dealing starting receiver Sammy Watkins to the Los Angeles Rams and acquiring Jordan Matthews from Philadelphia.

Where to see the rare total solar eclipse 2017 in Lancaster County
The Great American Eclipse is coming up, and reports are coming in of people being scammed by fake eclipse glasses. Binoculars and telescopes should have solar filters properly installed where the light enters at the large end.

That was reflected in the reaction of some of the players on Twitter when the trade was announced. Seconds later, the Bills made official the acquisition of Matthews and a 2018 third-rounder from the Eagles for cornerback Ronald Darby. Matthews and Wentz were close friends and it was Matthews who caught Wentz's first career touchdown pass in last season's opener.

The former Clemson standout has 153 catches for 2,459 yards and 17 touchdowns in three National Football League seasons despite undergoing multiple foot surgeries. Foot injuries have been his bane, causing him to miss 11 games the past two seasons.

Barcelona poised to complete Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele deals as Neymar replacements
The announcement came after Dembele skipped a Dortmund training session on Thursday, sending the rumour mill into overdrive. Dortmund are reluctant to sell the versatile attacker just one year after he moved to Germany.

There were reports the Eagles would be open to trading Jordan Matthews as far back as February, so it certainly comes as no surprise the club finally pulled the trigger.

That will give them at a minimum six selections in the top 100 of the draft, plus if they get any compensatory selection for the loss of Stephon Gillmore, and potentially four of those picks could be top 40 selections. He was miscast as a No. 1 receiver, dropped too many passes and was pushing Nelson Agholor down the depth chart. "It goes to the player that we got, the position that we're acquiring and how hard it is to find those guys". Because the Rams and the Bills have new offensive schemes this year, it's tough to really evaluate how these receivers will fare in their new homes, but obviously that's not going to stop us from trying. "This isn't one where you're celebrating and doing a dance because you're giving up a good player and a good pick".
