The epicenter of the quake is 32 kilometers southwest of Halabja near the Iranian border, data from the USGS website showed.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck 15.5 miles beneath the surface about 20 miles from Halabjah, Iraq.

A 12-year-old boy was killed and over 50 people were injured in Iraq, according to the official statements.
